After playing during the last season and a half in the Italian LegaDue for Umana Reyer, Kristaps Janicenoks is back to Latvia. VEF Riga has announced the signing of the 27-year-old forward. Janicenoks arrives to his new team after averaging 14.5 points and 3.4 rebounds per game in the last LegaDue.

Despite the reports from Greece about a possible agreement between Aris Thessaloniki and Atrsion Parakhouski, the 22-year-old Belarussian center will finally play in VEF Riga. The Latvian team has announced the signing of Parakohuski, who arrives to Europe from the University of Radford.

KK Zagreb has officially introduced the new two signings of the Croatian club: Mario Kasun and Alex Renfroe. The 24-year-old American forward arrives to Zagreb after starting his professional career in Latvia with VEF Riga. In the last Baltic League, Renfroe averaged 14.7 points, 7.2 assists and 7.1 rebounds per game.

Tyler Cain will start his professional career in Latvia. The 22-year-old American forward has signed a contract to play for VEF Riga. Cain arrives to the Baltic team after playing during the last four seasons for the University of South Dakota, where he averaged 14.7 points and 10.4 rebound per game during his senior year.

VEF Riga has officially announced two signings. The 28-year-old center Raitis Grafs, who played last season for BC Siauliai, and the 20-year-old guard Dairis Bertans, from BK Ventspils, are the new additions of the Latvian team. VEF Riga has also re-signed Sandis Valters, who landed in the team last January.

BK Ventspils has officially announced a new player for the next season. The Latvian team has signed Ingus Bankevics to a one-year contract. The 25-year-old forward, member of the Latvian national team, arrives to Ventspils after playing last season for VEF Riga, where he averaged 11.9 points and 1.5 rebounds in the last Baltic League.

VEF Riga has landed the first import player for the upcoming season. The Latvian club has signed Patrick Sanders. The 24-year-old American guard, who will arrived to Riga next week, arrives from MyGuide Amsterdam, where he averaged 14.8 points and 4.6 rebounds per game in the last Dutch Eredivisie.

As expected, Kaspars Berzins is back to Latvia. The 24-year-old center was signed by VEF Riga for the next season. Berzins arrives to the Latvian team after playing last season in Baloncesto Fuenlabrada, and then sent off on loan to Cáceres 2016. In the last LEB Oro, Berzins averaged 6.7 points and 3.4 rebounds per game.

VEF Riga has a new coach, Rimas Kurtinaitis, and now wants new players. Kaspars Berzins, who has completed an unsuccesful season in Spain, could be one of the targets of the Latvian team. The 24-year-old forward, signed by Baloncesto Fuenlabrada last summer, finished the season on loan for the Spanish LEB Oro team Cáceres 2016. On the other hand, another player on the radar of VEF Riga, the 31-year-old Latvian center, Kaspars Kambala, who played last season for Enisey Krasnoyarsk, could finally accept an offer to sign for a Chinese team.

Valdis Valters, vice president of basketball operations of VEF Riga, admitted via Twitter the interest of the Latvian team to hire Rimas Kurtinaitis, currently without a team after being released by Lietuvos Rytas, to replace Donaldas Kairys. Kurtinaitis and Valters, former players of the Soviet national team, are reported to be close friends.

Valdis Valters, who left temporary his duties as head coach of VEF Riga weeks ago due to health problems, won't be back to the Latvian team bench. The former point guard has accepted to be the new vice president of basketball operations of VEF Riga. The Latvian team is also trying to sign the center Kaspars Kambala, now in Enisey Krasnoyarsk, for the next season.

The Sydney Kings are back to the NBL after a year and a half out due to financial difficulties, and have announced their first 7 signings. Ben Knight, Luke Martin and Graeme Dann, former Kings, will be back to the team, along with Bjagoj Janev, former player of the Singapore Slingers. The other players will be Luke Cooper (from the Alaska Anchorage college), Julian Khazzouh (recently in Ironi Ramat Gan, in Israel) and Taj McCullough (now playing in Latvia for the VEF Riga). The head coach will be Ian ‘Moose’ Robilliard.

After less than two months playing for VEF Riga, Craig Bradshaw has left the Latvian team due to an leg injury. The 26-year-old New Zealander center arrived to Riga last April from the Gold Coast Blaze, in Australia. Bradsaw averaged 10.5 points and 4.5 rebounds in 4 games in the Latvian league.

Valdis Valters has stepped down his duties as the VEF Riga head coach, due to health reasons. The 52-year-old coach, former player of the Soviet national team in the 80's, was in charge of the Latvian team since 2008. Valters will be temporary replaced by the assistant coach Nikolajs Mazurs

Latvian team VEF Riga signed New Zealand player Craig Bradshaw for the rest of the season. 26-year-old center was playing for Gold Coast Blaze, in the Australian NBL, averaging 7.1 points and 3.5 rebounds. Bradsway also played in 2008 for two European teams (Efes Pilsen and Baloncesto León) before moving to South Korea, and then to Australia.

Last game in the Baltic league between Latvian teams Valmiera and VEF Riga (70-84 for Riga) met two players in a different situation. For VEF Riga, Taj McCullough played with a guarantee contract for the rest of the season after a succesful try-out with current Latvian champions. For Valmiera, former Fort Lewis college player Tim Crowell debuted with the team, and will try to have same McCullough luck, and pass the try-out.

Sandis Valters is back to VEF Riga. The son of Soviet legend and current VEF Riga coach, Valdis Valters, was a free agent since summer, when he left LegaDue team Imola. The 31-years-old guard (also brother of DKV Joventut player, Kristaps) will be the substitute of Martynas Mazeika, now in AEK Athens

Former prospect Martynas Mazeika is back to an important league, after signing with Greek team AEK Athens. The Lithuanian guard comes from VEF Riga, which it's rumoured to replace Mazeika with Sandis Valters. The son of the legendary Valdis Valters, and brother of DKV Joventut player Kristaps, would leave LegaDue team Imola to go back to his home country.
