Panathinaikos re-signs Mike Batiste and Drew Nicholas

Mike Batiste and Drew Nicholas will continue playing for Panathinaikos for, at least, two more years. Both American players agreed to a extension of their contract with the Greek team. Batiste, in Panathinaikos since 2004, was on the radar of Real Madrid, CSKA Moscow and Efes Pilsen during the last weeks. On the other hand, Nicholas arrived to Panathinaikos in 2008.

Drew Nicholas agrees to extend his contract with Panathinaikos

Drew Nicholas won't leave Panathinaikos. The 29-year-old American guard has reached to an agreement with the Greek club to a two-year extension. Nicholas, who averaged 10.0 points and 2.1 assists per game last season, is playing for Panathinaikos since 2008. On the other hand, Mike Batiste, also in talks to extend his contract, will likely continue playing for Panathinaikos.

Unicaja, also in the fight to land Ian Vougioukas

Unicaja is also interested in Ian Vougioukas, and has made an offer for the 25-year-old center, last season in Panellinios, who is also considering other options from Maccabi Tel Aviv and Panathinaikos. The Greek powerhouse could be the front-runner in the race to sign Vougioukas, and is also optimistic about re-signing Mike Batiste, whose contract with Panathinaikos is expired.

CSKA Moscow, also interested in Mike Batiste

CSKA Moscow has also expressed interest for Mike Batiste, according to the Greek press. The 31-year-old American center, who is playing in Panathinaikos since 2003, is reported to be also on the radar of Real Madrid and Efes Pilsen. Batiste, now a free agent after his contract with Panathinaikos has expired (though the Greek club wants to resign him), averaged 11.1 points and 5.1 rebounds per game in the last A1 league.

Real Madrid is not the only team interested in Mike Batiste. Efes Pilsen could have also on the radar the 32-year-old American center, who averaged 11.1 points and 5.1 rebounds last season in thet Greek A1 league. Batiste, is at the end of his expiring contract with Panathinaikos, where he has played since 2003.

According to the Greek media, Mike Batiste has an offer from Real Madrid. The Spanish team would have offered Batiste a $4 million, 2-year contract to join the team this summer. The 32-year-old American center, who averaged 11.1 points and 5.1 rebounds in the last Greek A1 league, is also in talks with Panathinaikos to extend his expiring contract, but the Greek club only offers him a one-year contract. Basiste, though, has told that he wants to stay in Panathinaikos.
