Chicago Bulls officially announce the signing of Omer Asik

As expected, the Chicago Bulls have announced officially the signing of Omer Asik. The Turkish 24-year-old center arrives to the Bulls, the team that owned his NBA rights, from Fenerbahce. Asik, member of the Turkish national team, averaged 8.9 points and 6.0 rebounds per game in the last TBL.

Chicago Bulls and Ömer Asik reach to an agreement

As expected, Ömer Asik will play next season for the Chicago Bulls after both parts have reached to an agreement. The 24-year-old Turkish center, who was selected with the 36th overall pick in 2005, has played during the last three seasons for Fenerbahce, averaging 8.9 points and 6.0 rebounds in the last Euroleague, before suffering a season-ending injury on December. Asik will play with the Turkish national team this summer, already recovered.

Regal Barcelona and Real Madrid could be interested in Omer Asik

Regal Barcelona and Real Madrid could have shown interest in landing Omer Asik for the next season. The 23-year-old Turkish center will probably leave Fenerbahce, when he's playing since 2007, to move to the Chicago Bulls, but the two Spanish powerhouse could be also trying to attract Asik.

Fenerbahce, interested in Kaya Peker and Engin Atsur

Kaya Peker is in talks with Fenerbahce to land in the Turkish team after playing during the last two seasons for Efes Pilsen. Another player who is on the radar of Fenerbahce is Engin Atsur, from Besiktas. On the other hand, Omer Asik and Oguz Savas could leave Fenerbahce this summer.

Chicago Bulls, ready to land Omer Asik next season

Despite the initial rumors about the intentions of the Chicago Bulls to trade the Omer Asik's NBA rights, it seems the situation has changed. The NBA franchise is reported to be interested in bring the Turkish center to the training camp next October. The 23-year-old player, now playing for Fenerbahce, is now recovering from an injury that has left him out of the courts since December.

Chicago Bulls want to trade Omer Asik rights this summer

The Chicago Bulls will look to sign veteran players in the next post-season, and are willing to offer the NBA rights of Omer Asik. The 23-year-old Turkish center hasn't played any game since December due to an injury, but could move to the NBA soon. The Bulls acquired his rights since 2008 via trade from Portland Trail Blazers.
