San Antonio Spurs re-sign Richard Jefferson to a multi-year contract

Three weeks after opting out of the final year of his $15 million contract with the San Antonio Spurs, Richard Jefferson has re-signed with the NBA franchise. The 30-year-old forward was signed to a multi-year contract with the Spurs, where he averaged 9.4 points and 5.3 rebounds per game last season.

Richard Jefferson opts out of his contract with the San Antonio Spurs

Unexpectedly, Richard Jefferson has decided to opt out of the final season of his contract and become a free agent. The 30-year-old forward will forfait $15.2 million with this decision, and expected move due to have a supposed lower market value as a free agent. Last season, Jefferson averaged 9.4 points and 5.3 rebounds per game after arriving to the Spurs in the preseason via trade.
