Tom Izzo rejects the offer from the Cleveland Cavaliers to become the new head coach

Tom Izzo has decided to continue as the head coach of the Michigan State University and turn down an offer from the Cleveland Cavaliers that would double his current salary. The Cavs are looking for a replacement for the recently fired coach Mike Brown, and could now turn their eyes to Byron Scott.

Cleveland Cavaliers, in talks with Byron Scott

While waiting for an answer from Tom Izzo, the Cleveland Cavaliers have started conversations with the former coach of the New Jersey Nets and the New Orleans Hornets Byron Scott to take over the NBA team. The Cavs are looking for a coach to fill the vacancy left after the firing of Mike Scott. Another option could be Mike Woodson, who was recently released by the Atlanta Hawks.

Tom Izzo, close to become the new coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers

Tom Izzo could become soon the new head coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers, according to ESPN. The NBA franchise made an important offer to land Izzo, in charge of Michigan State since 1995, and the 55-year-old coach seems to be close to accept it. Izzo would replace Mike Brown, fired weeks ago.
