Sam Musselman could be the new head coach of the Reno Bighorns

Eric Musselman could become in the next days the second coach of the history of the D-League with NBA head coaching experience. The 45-year-old coach, who has been in charge of the Sacramento Kings and the Golden State Warriors during his career, would be announced this Thursday as the new head coach of the Reno Bighorns, replacing Jay Humphries. Musselman worked recently as the head coach of the Dominican national league.

Eric Musselman is the new head coach of the Dominican NT

The former head coach of the Golden State Warriors and the Sacramento Kings, Eric Musselman, was finally appointed to take the reign of the Dominican Republic national team. The 45-year-old coach, who was working as a TV analyst, was signed until 2012, when the Domincan Republic will try to play in the Olympic Games, in London.

Herb Brown and Nick Nurse, also candidates to coach the Dominican NT

Eric Musselman (as expected), Herb Brown and Nick Nurse are the three final candidates to coach the Dominican Republic National Team this summer. Nick Nurse is currently the head coach of the Iowa Energy, in the D-League, while Herb Brown is an assistant of his brother Larry in the Charlotte Bobcats. The 74-year-old veteran coach was also in charge of the Detroit Pistons between 1975 and 1977. Other candidates considered were Melvin López, José Maíta Mercedes and Chicho Sibilio.

Eric Musselman and Moncho Monsalve, among the candidates to coach the Dominican Republic NT

The Dominican Republic Basketball Federation is looking for a coach to lead the National Team, who will replace Scott Roth. Two of the main candidates are the former NBA coach Eric Musselman, and the Spanish coach Moncho Monsalve, who was in charge of the Brazilian NT.
