Memphis Grizzlies recall Hasheem Thabeet from the D-League

After 10 days in the D-League, 2009 NBA draft second pick Hasheem Thabeet is back to Memphis Grizzlies. The NBA franchise recalled the rookie center from the affiliated team, Dakota Wizards, where the Tanzanian player averaged 13.8 points, 11.2 rebounds and 3.2 blocks in 6 games.

San Antonio Spurs, to sign Cedric Jackson for a 10-day contract

San Antonio Spurs are set to call up guard Cedric Jackson and sign him for a 10-day contract, to strengthen the backcourt after the injury of Tony Parker. This will be the second call up for Jackson, after being signed for the Cavaliers to two consecutive 10-day contracts. Jackson is now playing in the D-League franchise Erie BayHawks.

Xacobeo Blu:Sens signs Maurice Bailey for a try out

After the injuries of Adrián Fuentes and Maxi Stanic, Xacobeo Blu:Sens has signed American guard Maurice Bailey for a one-week try out. 28-year-old player started the season with Red Star, but was waived by the Serbian team in November and replaced by Mike Harris. Last season, Bailey played in Russia with Spartak Primorje Vladivostok

Utah Jazz re-assign Kosta Koufos to the D-League

For the second time this season, Kosta Koufos is assigned by Utah Jazz to the D-League affiliate, Utah Flash. In the first stint, American-Greek center played one game, scoring 16 points and capturing 7 rebounds. Koufos is not having a great season with the Jazz, playing just 25 games with 1.2 points and 1.1 rebounds averaged.

Stephon Marbury demands $2 million to continue in China

Former NBA All-Star Stephon Marbury has failed to help his new team, Shanxi Zhongyu, to qualify for the CBA play-offs. Marbury has made good numbers in China (23.1 points, 9.4 assists and 6.2 rebounds), but it's not happy with the cold weather of Shanxi province, and has demanded $2 million to continue next year. Marbury is earning $25K a month right now, since signing for the Chinese team a month and a half ago.

Nemanja Bjelica slams rumors about his leaving to Partizan

Red Star top prospect, forward Nemanja Bjelica, denied rumors about playing next year with Partizan. 21-yeard old player has one more year of contract with Red Star, and his name is projected to be heard in next NBA draft. Bjelica is averaging 9.5 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.2 assists in the Adriatic League this season.

Metalac, close to sign Mile Ilic

Former Serbian NT player, Mile Ilic is close to sign with Metalac. 25-year-old center, who also played for New Jersey Nets in 2006-07 season, was without a team after failing a physical test for Red Star last summer. Last season, Ilic played 12 games for Spanish team Cajasol.

Rashaun Broadus and Lodrick Stewart leave Suduva

Lithuanian team Suduva has seen how American players Rashaun Broadus and Lodrick Stewart left the team without saying a word. Broadus and Stewart played for the last time with Suduva on February 23rd against Perlas, and the club doesn't know if they have intention of coming back. Broadus arrived to Suduva on January for a try-out, while Stewart started the season with Marijampole team.

Miami Heat, interested in Mike James and Larry Hughes

The top two guards in the free agency are Mike James and Larry Hughes. Charlotte Bobcats were interested in both of them, but finally decided not to sign any new player, and now Miami Heat could sign one of them to take the spot left by Rafer Alston. Mike James, recently waived by Washington Wizards, is the first choice to back up Carlos Arroyo in the point guard position.

KK Split fires Boris Kurtovic, Mladen Vuskovic will be the new coach

Fort Wayne Mad Ants re-acquire DeWitt Scott to replace Ron Howard

Guard Ron Howard has left the D-League team Fort Wayne Mad Ants after being re-acquired a month ago. To replace him, the D-League franchise have re-acquired forward DeWitt Scott, waived in January, who later was signed by Reno Bighorns.

DKV Joventut, considering signing Pops Mensah-Bonsu or Daniel Santiago

DKV Joventut has already signed a new coach, Pepu Hernández, but is still tracking the market for a new center.
