As expected, Erman Kunter will be the head coach of Cholet after this summer. The French team resign the Turkish 54-year-old coach to a two-year contract extension. Kunter, who was on the radar of Efes Pilsen days ago, is working with Cholet since 2003, except a one year stint in ASVEL Villeurbanne in the 2004-05 season.

Erman Kunter has rejected the one-year offer from Efes Pilsen to take over the Turkish team. Kunter could finally decide to stay three more years in his current team, Cholet Basket. Efes Pilsen is already looking for another coach, and could have Svetislav Pesic in the top of the candidates list to replace Ergin Ataman.

Cholet Basket, the new champion of the French LNB, could have to face the departure of his head coach Erman Kunter, who could be close to Efes Pilsen. In that case, the main candidate ro replace the Turkish coach could be Jim Bilba. The 42-year-old coach, a former European champion as a player with Limoges, is an assistant for Kunter since 2008.

Efes Pilsen is considering several candidates to replace Ergin Ataman. Besides Neven Spahija, Erman Kunter and Rimas Kurtinaitis, two more names could be in the short list of the Turkish club. Zeljko Obradovic, who could be considering to leave Panathinaikos, and Jasmin Repesa, currently in charge of Benetton Treviso, are the two new candidates for the Efes Pilsen bench.

Despite the great season of Cholet, the coach Erman Kunter could leave the team next season. The Turkish coach, in charge of the French team since 2003 (except the 2004-05 season, in ASVEL Villeurbanne) has demanded more money to stay in Cholet, but the small budget of the club could make impossible an agreement between both parts.
