Quin Snyder won't be the head coach of the Austin Toros next season. The 43-year-old coach will be hired by the Philadelphia 76ers to bolster their player development side. Snyder was in charge of the Toros since February 2007, after the sudden death of the former coach Dennis Johnson, an was named the D-League Coach of the year the following season.

Alonzo Gee and Curtis Jerrells was recalled by the San Antonio Spurs from the affiliated team, the Austin Toros, in the D-League. Gee was assigned two weeks ago, averaging 21.0 points and 6.6 rebounds in the NBA this season, while Jerrells was sent to the Toros a month ago, after being called up by the Spurs. The guard has averaged 20.7 points and 5.7 assists in the D-League this season.

The San Antonio Spurs have announced that Alonzo Gee was assigned to the D-League affiliated, the Austin Toros. The forward will be back to the Toros, where he played 36 games this season, before being called up first by the Washington Wizards, and then by the Spurs. Gee, who averaged 21.0 points and 6.6 rebounds in his previous stint in the D-League, will help the Toros in the upcoming play-offs.

The D-League franchise Austin Toros have announced the acquisition of forward Cory Underwood (recently waived by the Dakota Wizards) and forward Emmanual Jones (waived in February by the Idaho Stampede). Both players will replace Dwayne Jones (called up by the Phoenix Suns) and Eric Dawson (waived due to an injury).

Indiana Pacers are close to call up Marcus Williams. The 23-year-old guard is currently playing in the D-League for the Austin Toros, where he arrived a couple of weeks ago from the Chinese league. In 8 matches played with the Toros, the former San Antonio Spurs draftee has averaged 24.3 points, 5.4 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game.

As expected, the Phoenix Suns have announced the signing of Dwayne Jones. The center was called up from the D-League team Austin Toros, and will be playoff-elegible for Phoenix. Jones was averaging 17.6 points and 16.0 rebounds in 48 games, being the league-best rebounder in the D-League.

As expected, Earl Barron was signed by the New York Knicks to a 10-day contract. The 28-year-old center was called up from the Austin Toros, in the D-League. According to the Greek media, Barron will play in Greece when his contract with the Knicks expires for the national league play-offs.

The Phoenix Suns will sign Dwayne Jones for the rest of the season, according to sources close to the situation. The 26-year-old center was playing in the D-League for the Austin Toros, averaging 17.6 points, 16.0 rebounds and 1.8 blocks per game. Jones was close to sign for the Philippine team Smart Gilas days ago, but finally he took the offer from the Suns.

D-League franchise Austin Toros have announced the acquisition of guard Marcus Williams, who was playing in China for Zhejiang Wanma Cyclones. Williams, who played for the Toros the last two seasons, averaged 19.7 points and 11.2 rebounds in the CBA.

Washington Wizards have signed another player to a 10-day contract, after Shaun Livingston. Alonzo Gee, who was playing for Austin Toros in the D-League, will be available when the Wizards play Celtics tonight. Rookie forward will take the roster spot vacated by Mike Harris, whose 10-day contract was not renewed.

Von Wafer is close to be back to the NBA. Dallas Mavericks will sign American guard to a 10-day contract, after passing successfully his try-out. Wafer was a free agent after being released by Greek team Olympiakos. At the same time, Dallas is looking for a center. After deciding not to keep Austin toros player Dwayne Jones after a try-out, the next possibilty could be free agent Jake Voskuhl, who played for the Mavs in the preseason.

The brief stint of Nathan Jawai in the D-League is over. The Australian forward was recalled by his NBA team, Minnesota Timberwolves, from the assigned team Sioux Falls Skyforce. Jawai played two games for Skyforce averaging 6.0 points and 3.0 minutes.
Malik Hairston has spent more time in the NBA development league. The guard was assigned on January 14th, and appeared 15 games with Austin Toros, averaging 29.1 points, 4.7 rebounds and 3.0 assists. Now, Hairston is back with San Antonio Spurs after being recalled by the NBA franchise.
