Denver Nuggets sign the son of the head coach, Coby Karl, and Brian Butch

Coby Karl has made history becoming the first player in the NBA coached by his father. The 26-year-old guard, son of George Karl (now out of the bench due to a throat cancer treatment) was signed to rest of the season by the Denver Nuggets. The NBA franchise have also signed, as expected, the center from the Bakersfield Jam Brian Butch. Coby Karl was playing in the D-League team Idaho Stampede after starting the season in the Cleveland Cavaliers, and a brief stint with the Golden State Warriors.

Hervé Lamizana leaves the Lebanon after just one game

Hervé Laminzana left the Chinese team TianJin Rongcheng after his team failed to qualify for the CBA play-offs, after averaging 25.7 points, 9.9 rebounds and 3.8 blocks. The Ivorian-French center moved to the Lebanon, and was signed by the Sporting Al-Riyadi Beirut, but his stint has just lasted one game, and was released after posting 11 points and 5 rebounds against Kahraba. Laminzana is now a free agent.

Donatas Motiejunas and Benetton Treviso, likely to part ways after next NBA draft

Donatas Motiejunas will enter in the next draft if he gets assured to be a lottery pick. Despite the young Lithuanian forward is under contract with Benetton Treviso until 2011, both parts would agree to a buy-out in case the prospect decides to move to the NBA, according to the DraftExpress journalist Jonathan Givony.

Eddie Jordan denies any interest to coach the Rutgers University

The current coach of the Philadelphia 76ers, Eddie Jordan, slammed the rumors about his interest to take the coach spot in his former college as a player, Rutgers, for next season. Jordan will surely leave the Sixers bench after this season end, but his future is still undecided.

Jason Forte will replace Keena Young in Air21 Express

The Philippine team Air21 Express have signed the American guard Jason Forte to replace recently signed Keena Young, who was waived after failing to lead the team to a impressive start of the season. Washington Wizards sign Cedric Jackson for the rest of the season
