Boston Celtics sign Von Wafer to a one-year contract

The Boston Celtics have signed Von Wafer for the next season. The 24-year-old guard, who has agreed to a one-year deal for the minimum salary, played briefly last season for the Dallas Mavericks with a 10-day contract, after an unsuccessful stint in Greece, with Olympiakos, where he just appeared in six games

Dallas Mavericks sign officially Von Wafer to a 10-day contract

Guard Von Wafer is officially a new member of the Dallas Mavericks. The NBA franchise signed Wafer to a 10-day contract, after a brief and successful try-out. Wafer is back to the NBA after moving to Olympiakos last summer. His experience with the Greek team ended a couple of months ago, and was a free agent since then.

Dallas Mavericks to sign Von Wafer

Von Wafer is close to be back to the NBA. Dallas Mavericks will sign American guard to a 10-day contract, after passing successfully his try-out. Wafer was a free agent after being released by Greek team Olympiakos. At the same time, Dallas is looking for a center. After deciding not to keep Austin toros player Dwayne Jones after a try-out, the next possibilty could be free agent Jake Voskuhl, who played for the Mavs in the preseason.

Rashad McCants and Von Wafer, in a try-out for Dallas Mavericks

Dallas Mavericks are looking for a player to complete their roster after last days trades. As reported, Rashad McCants is one of the candidates, but another NBA player now unemployed, Von Wafer (lately under the radar of Rockets and Grizzlies), could be the chosen one. Both players are now practicing with the Mavs to earn a contract with the Texan franchise.

Houston Rockets consider again to sign Von Wafer

Von Wafer believes he's fully recovered of his disc problems that foiled his signing with Houston Rockets. Memphis Grizzlies were interested in him, but Rockets, his last NBA team, are evaluating the idea of adding Wafer. American guard started the season with Greek team Olympiakos, but was released because of his bad relationship with the coach Panagiotis Yannakis

Memphis Grizzlies pass on Von Wafer

For the second time, Von Wafer was rumoured to be a Grizzly, and for the second time the deal wasn't done. The Tennessee franchise will keep a roster spot open in case of trade, and won't sign the former Olympiakos player. Memphis is willing to trade one of his 2010 first round picks to make a move. Miami and Utah are the most likely franchises to negociate with Grizzlies.

Memphis Grizzlies interested again in Von Wafer. Ronnie Brewer and Dorrell Wright, also in their shortlist

Chris Wallace has confirmed they are still interested in signing guard Von Wafer, free agent since leaving Greek team Olympiakos. Wafer is not the only SG to be in Memphis shortlist. Grizzlies have also shown interest in Ronnie Brewer (Utah) and Dorrell Wright (Miami)
