As expected, Javier Beirán is officially a member of Gran Canaria 2014. The Spanish team has announced the signing to a two-year contract of the 23-year-old forward, who has played during his entire professional career for Asefa Estudiantes. Last season, Beirán averaged 1.9 points and 1.0 rebounds per game in the ACB league before leaving the club.

Himar Ojeda, sport's director of Gran Canaria 2014, admitted the interest of the Spanish club for Giuseppe Poeta and Javier Beirán. According to Ojeda, other names on the radar of Gran Canaria 2014 are the 24-year-old American guard Taurean Green, who played last season for AEK Athens, and Michael Bramos, the 23-year-old American-Greek center, who would arrive from Peristeri. Vanoli Cremona is also reported to be interested in Bramos. On the other hand, Marcus Norris and Melvin Sanders could leave the team.

Richard Nguema could also leave Estudiantes to make room for the young prospect Jaime Fernández.
